4600 would be a about 3k and will have power steering. Zetor 7211 possibly. 165 or 168square axel with power steering. What ya want is something that will start on the button and is easily fixed.

Case/db 1394. Fairly bullet proof, only common issues are cracked heads if they were lying up in frost with no antifreeze, and serious panel/cab rust.

Would agree, a 7211 would be a fine tractor for what your talking about. Cheap to fix and good to stay going also

50b loader. Pick up cheap enough. They just stay going no matter what hardship you give it. Lift over a tonne no problem and can use to clean out the sheds.

Would agree, if you don't need the tractor only functions (PTO, lift arm and trailer work) then a loader would be the job. Neighbour of mine finishes about 40 cattle a year and has no tractor. Bought a telehandler a few years and it does all his work. Contractor does silage, slurry and fertiliser. He actually uses his telehandler for using the the contractors wrapper.

Otherwise have a look around the back of some dealers yards, old fords and masseys are still good but many have gone for export.

I,v never seen a SAME that old, its cheap for a reason.

That SAME could be grand. Just check its not one of the earlier ones with the dry disk brakes. Check all gears engage and no bearing rumbles in the gearbox. Its had a tin of Orange paint thrown over it, and the pick-up hitch needs a bit of attention, but if it starts crisply, had the wet brakes etc, and the 4wd is working properly it could do you a good turn.

Actually, looking at the photos, that tractor has the 3rd gear lever. So has a 12/12 gearbox with a shuttle. It therefore was built after the 1981 update, with a few more HP, and better hydraulic lift and flow, and wet brakes and a hydraulic PTO. 1000/540 changeable by flicking a lever, and the 3 point linkage hydraulics are totally separate to the spool valves. (separate oil and pumps) so handy for a rear grab, as you don't need to be swopping between lift and service's.
