Hi guys new to the forums and need some help.

Currently own a peugeot 207 a 2006 model and it has started to acquire quite a few faults. Only had it 3 months and I'm beginning to think the head gasket needs replacing as it likes a drink of coolant and the car is a bit jerky on start up but when warm it runs perfectly fine apart from a ticking noise also from the engine which has only just reared its head.

How would i go about the pcp peugeot passport deal they are currently doing with the 4000 euro scrappage scheme. We are currently paying off a credit union loan for the 207 but can still afford about 160 a month. Would this affect our chances of passing a credit check for a pcp?

Also how much trade in price would i get for this 207 roughly? it has 206,000km on the clock.

Also i have only been living here for just over a year but have lived in the uk all my life previous and my other half is irish and lived here all her life if that would make a difference.

    Thanks guys

Would you not take it to a garage and get a proper diagnosis?
Old cars need maintenance, you'll have to spend money that you're not spending on keeping this car going on monthly payments.

Thing is i have and i have spent quite a bit on it already. They cannot find a leak so i have been told but its drinking it at an average from max to min about every 700km.

The ticking noise i was told was tappets but with possibly a hg repair coming and possibly new tappets its starting to look pricey for a car with 206,000km on it.

    Would it be worth fixing??

Car would be worth €2750-€3k-ish if it was ok.
You'd need to put a deposit down on pcp to get any way affordable monthly payments. Usually about €4,000, then you have the optional similar figure of a final payment if you want to keep the car.

Given that you're still paying the credit union off, I can't see this being a great option for you.

Could i use the price of the car towards the deposit for the pcp??

Was thinking i could avail of the scrappage scheme going on at the moment at peugeot.

I currently have a few cars I'm looking at.

Could i get a good deal on a dacia sandro by any chance i wonder if they are doing a scrappage scheme??

We can afford about 160 plus what we pay the credit union at the moment. We would of had to get a loan to pay the deposit for a new car anyway if that makes sense.

    Thank you for replying

Car is next to worthless to a dealer as they wouldn't retail it. They'd feck it off to trade/auction

Would i still be able to avail of the scrappage scheme if they do that?

I'm not certain they'd count the trade in bonus as the deposit.
    Maybe they would.
