hi, looking for an 05/06 645, found this one looks clean etc but what would be a fair price for it? it's in twice as good condition as most others listed but is also twice the price..
not doing many miles at all so the v8 is a bonus

fairly set on getting a 6er but would be open to other similar cars, had a look at a merc cls but prefer the 6 series overall.

any thoughts on whether the 645 above would be good at the right price or if I should be looking at something else? doesn't have to be a coupe just has to be petrol and preferably something that's depreciated a lot already

    thanks

Nice car but price seems a bit on the high side to me, here is one from a dealer asking a bit less but not sure how they really compare to each other:

Nice twin turbo V8 one here but a bit more expensive:

    That 650i is a 4.8 N/A engine as far as I remember.

first one is missing a few extras off my must have list unfortunately, sport seats being the main one

second looks good although the price is going in the wrong direction for me. whats the story with it being turbo or na, google saying the n63 was introduced in 2008 which is the turbo charged one. unless I'm wrong it sounds like the seller doesn't know what they have.. hope they haven't been putting diesel in it too thinkings its a 635d

still looking like the 645 in mayo could be the one but 11k is asking too much for it

If I was paying that rate of tax, I would try and get a good 650...

too expensive at the moment unfortunately only as 2007 on, have 04 and 05 645s to choose from so the price is nearly half, few years tax worth of a difference anyway

there is a 2007 550 SE on carzone asking E14,950 from a bmw dealer, probably wont be of interest, but there is the link anyway...

the value for money with cars at the 1800 tax is good, lovely 550i there, heart is set on a 6 series but still only 45k miles on that.. pretty decent sleeper if you stuck a 520D badge on it although the pipes would give it away. few thousand more expensive too but no doubt something will go wrong on a 6er. gearbox sump is apparently likely to go bad, about a 400 quid fix if caught before the gears are wrecked. only an issue on the auto version but manuals are few and far between.
but anyway should be a bit of fun having something I don't really see much every day, its half the appeal

that's not to say I see a 5 series with the 4.8L v8 everyday either though.

    the E63 650i is a NA 4.8 v8 . no turbos .

i had a 645ci for 4 years and loved it but be aware they are hugely expensive to repair if anything goes wrong . be careful of ones with dynamic drive as the steering racks are fragile and cost me nearly 5k to replace and that wasnt at a main dealer .

other things to watch out for are a leak on the coolant system that can cost thousands to put right aswell . and tyres are at least 250 each with good ones even more

batteries are under high drain and can have issues . i loved mine to bits but over 4 years of ownership i spent more on maintaining it than it would cost to but a new small hatchback .

aim for the 650i if you can there is much less issues

Is there any way to check the dynamic drive condition before you buy without a full main dealer diagnostic ?
