With the whole 'not allowed advertise cigarettes.' what happens if you have clothes with cigarette brands on them?

What i mean is.

Just say you had a formula 1 jacket that you bought before the ban came in and it was covered in cigarette logos, could you still wear it in public?

Could you be stopped and have it confiscated?

Would it be an illegal item now?

No issue. Plenty of sporty motorcycles about with cigarette branding, then there are old woodbine signs etc in old style pubs.

This seems to be the relevant law:

Tobacco Products (Control of Advertising, Sponsorship and Sales Promotion) Act, 1978 wrote:

“advertisement”, in relation to a tobacco product, includes every form of recommendation of the product to the public, including, in particular—

(a) the statement of the name of the product or of any brand, trade description or designation by reference to which the product is sold, where such a statement may reasonably be regarded as a recommendation of the product to the public, and

(b) the statement of any properties of the product on a label, container, wrapper or package used for the product or in a leaflet, circular, pamphlet or brochure issued to the public or given to a purchaser of the product,

So it seems to be a grey area, your example of a vintage jacket with a cigarette brand would probably be legal if you were a private citizen, but could be illegal if you were being paid to walk up and down Grafton Street wearing it (you would run afoul of this statutory instrument which allows only certain narrowly defined types of tobacco advertising).
