This thread will be open for the next while for users who would like to discuss the latest Charter. This is a feedback thread: while leeway will be given in discussions to allow a topic to be discussed as openly as possible the normal rules of boards.ie apply.

The old charter can be found here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055792311

The new charter is here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=95323228#post95323228

The new charter was created the input of forum mods Degrassinoel and Myself, the Soc CMods Taltos and Mike_ie, Admins, and Dav the boards.ie Community Manager. We also want to hear how the forum users feel about this new charter. Thank you!

First a big thank you for the mod team for putting in the time and effort to make this forum a nice place to be .

I also hope these new measures won't stifle debate to much but only time will tell I guess ... One of the points I did like was the length of discussions one could have on a particular subject ... Although admitattedly going in circles in the process sometimes :D

Speaking of feedback: who is yay or nay for satire if threads are clearly marked as [satire]?

eg [Satire] Did the rebels blow up the Death Star or was it an Imperial conspiracy?

Would this qualify as satire ?

I mentioned this possibility earlier today too

Offtopic or slightly so as in the above posts would be well suited to an offtopic thread - ye know, stuff that's relevant to the forum but not entirely relevant to any specific topic

I think I got this... we'll call it Lizard Man's Pub in the Subway; or Picnic on the Grassy Knoll :p

Why are all the threads worth discussing closed?

I think it's fairly self-evident why, but in case you missed the reasoning behind it, there's usually a mod post in bold print at the end of the topic to explain why it's been closed.
