Selling a 151 privately

    I bought a 151 in January but I have just changed jobs and now have a company car. Would it be difficult to shift such a new car privately? obviously it will be priced below the dealer prices.

    Not as easy as you think. My brother was in the same boat a few years back. He ended up selling it back to the dealer.

    It would need to be cheap. Someone getting a nearly new car could so easily just go to a main dealer, do finance, pick a colour etc etc.

    What sort of car are we talking?

    You'd need to be very confident that this new job will work out too.

    For a relatively high value car like that I think you'll have a hard enough time selling it privately.
    I would get a bid off the dealer that sold you the car as a benchmark.

    I'd be very reluctant to spend anywhere near that sort of money on a private sale.

    The dealer where you bought the car is best placed to take it back . You will effectively be funding his margin, but I'd say this would be a lot less than the discount you would have to give for selling it privately.

    If you could get 80% of the purchase price you would be doing very well, your probably realistically looking at 75% at best.

    Problems with securing finance for a private sale will mean limited purchasers available and not many will have it in cash to spend, going back to a dealer might be best option.

    I would be interested but with low pcp ratest and high rates for a personal loan it would work out slightly dearer to buy out of the box from Audi.

    Leasing a brand new car to an employee is more beneficial to a company for tax purposes.

    OP will struggle to sell a car of that value privately, most people spending that sort of figure will be using finance or borrowing which will rule them out buying privately. There is also the attraction of low PCP rates and the peace of mind of buying from a dealer.

    Ask the main dealer or a high end used car dealer to sell your car on a commision basis and agree a percentage for him of selling price as its almost new he wont have to spend any money preparing it he just has to clean it and sell it . He wont have to stump up 30k or so and have it lying on forecourt . You should get a much better price

    will you be doing high company mileage ? if not you will have a large BIK bill monthly on your pay slip, look into your annual business mileage with company as if this is very low it would be worth keeping your own car and claiming mileage I would think?

    It'll sell ok, particularly with a factory warranty. Don't expect to achieve full retail value though.
