We are looking at building an extension C.13sqm the builder has specified 100mm kingspan between the rafters with 38mm insulated plasterboard on top and walls with 80mm insulated plasterboard.

We will have a 3.7x2.5 double glazed door with a 2.5 X1.2 triple glazed skylight also.

What do people think of the level of insulation?

    1. What is the wall build up? Ie is it block/ cavity/ insulation/ block/ dry-lining(insulated plasterboard)

    2. Did you provide construction/tender drawings and specification listing building regs/ your requirements?

80mm drylining on its own is not IMO the best method, but we would need to see your drawings/the situation.

    3. Who is checking/confirming/certifying building regulations,HSA & planning exemptions are being meet by the builder?

Its 205mm cavity block there is only going to be one extra wall (the other will be a large glass door + existing wall ).

We are getting an engineer to draw up the spec and sign it off. We have already got a quote based on our drawings

Ask the engineer where the due point will be Within the wall, will it be directly behind the drylining?

Is this a party wall? What is outside of the wall finished with?

Not sure what the due point is ill ask the eng. It will be plastered on the outside And it's not a party wall
