Should I consult a solicitor?

I found a dangerous object in my child's food this week, large and sharp enough that an adult could choke to death on. I've contacted the company and they've asked me to send it to them for investigation. The thing is though I don't trust that this company will properly investigate it.

Should I consult a solicitor or is there a food safety watchdog I would be better dealing with?

Id inform the FSA first, a solicitor being involved will have no bearing on the investigation and just makes it look to them like you want money more than anything, id advise them you want a copy of the report when completed also

No point in going to a solicitor as to be compensated for anything there needs to have been damage and it sounds as if there was none here.
