Finishing One Parent Family in June, HELP!

    Hi,

As it states in the title, I will come to the end of One Parent Family payment in June. I work full time so I get a reduced payment, it's 60 a week. Which lets be fair is helpful and I'd rather have it than not.

So last month I got a letter asking me to attend a seminar on what to do. Which I didn't because a) I work full time and didn't think I'd be entitled to anything and b)It was a Thursday lunch time!

I got another letter 2 weeks ago about I didn't attend the seminar and it had a form enclosed for Back To Work Something Or Other. I called my local office and informed them (which I have always been upfront with) that I work full time so the back to work thing wouldn't make any sense. 'Oh no! The lady said, not at all, don't worry, fill it in and send it back. The Lone Parents is stopping, but this is replacing it until the child turns 14/18 (I can't quite remember)', I said ok and she took my details before I finished the call 'Oh you should apply for FIS and *Insert other payment here*, sure you'll more likely get more than you're getting now!'

I was/am flabbergasted because a) she was helpful and b) why are they trying to give me payments? I thought the whole point was to get people off payments! I mean don't get me wrong, I'll take the help if I'm entitled to it, but this has never happened before.

Does anyone else have a clue on this? Whats going on? Anyone else experiencing this?:confused::confused:
