Another one due in tonight :) ...
Slightly more convenient time if anyone would like to take a few snaps or a video:

Oh, and surely it's worth a mention on this forum that a new weekly Turkish Air Cargo flight IST - EINN - ORD started this morning with a 33F. I only noticed it on flightstats.com when I was looking for the AN-124's scheduled departure time from EINN:

IST Istanbul TK 6555 Turkish Airlines 9:20 AM Scheduled 33F

As of now I can't find any departure schedule for this morning's AN-124. But as I said above, there's another arriving tonight, latest ETA 20:11 local.

Maybe they'll both be there together later :-)

Thanks for the photos but they are just waaaaaaay too big for the boards pages. All I can see (laptop browser) is the nose, leading edge, one side of the tail and so on. Oh and lots of apron tarmac.

Or download Picasa (free s/w from Google - poor man's Photoshop) and do it yourself .... https://picasa.google.com/

or set the camera to a lower resolution.

Pics look great to me Caovyn. Thanks for posting.

    What a beautiful bird.

Don't suppose the two were side by side this evening? That would be a nice photo for Shannon.

Shannon used to be a base for them, wasn't unusual to see two or three at once in Shannon at any one time.

living in limerick on the south side and just heard it pass over head. It's the loudest plane I've ever come across. did a Google after checking flightradar and found this thread. It must have taken off facing northwards to pass over my house. That would be unusual in Shannon would it not?

An easterly breeze so departed from rwy 06 at Shannon, taking off over the town and turning right over Limerick. Most of the time runway 24 is in use taking off out over Foynes as the winds favour it, but this time of the year 06 is in use often.
