Quite enjoyed this last year and it looks to have pulled another all star entry list again for the weekend. A pdf file of all the entrants for this year:

Ireland have sent a team for the Men's 4x400 and Women's 4x100 and 4x200. All just provisional entries at this stage.

    Men's 4x400

    Brian Gregan
    Brian Murphy
    Craig Lynch
    Dara Kervick
    Richard Morrissey
    Thomas Barr

Women's 4x100 and 4x200 both have the same lineup:

    Amy Foster
    Catherine Mc Manus
    Phil Healy
    Sarah Lavin
    Steffi Creaner

Day 1 coverage live on Eurosport 2 at midnight Saturday for the night owls or Highlights on the BBC red button at 10:30 Sunday night. No TV coverage of Day 2 as far as I know but Universal sports will have a live stream.

With Mark English absent and Gregan badly out of form (47.6 in Florida) I'm not overly confident of that top 8 place this weekend. They really should be on the Olympics though based on their Zurich form. Main thing for now is to make sure they qualify for Beijing and then do some damage there which will go a long way towards Olympic qualification.

Kind of a shame Ireland doesn't have a DMR going but I guess Robinson etc aren't yet in form

Agree with that..... it's good to get the team together as often as possible. Qualification here is unlikely for the reasons you gave, but the Olympics is definitely a realistic target. Hopefully the full team will get together at the European Team Championships in June before making an assault on the Irish record at the World Championships in Beijing.

    Anyone else watching this?
Very strong 2nd leg from Barr but otherwise the Irish were outclassed.

Anyone know why Gregan wasn't running?

Very slow time it has to be said. Almost 6 seconds slower than Zurich.

    IAAF splits for Irish 4x400m team: Lynch 47.44 - Barr 45.13:eek: - Murphy 47.43 - Morrissey 47.11

Flying start, and the second leg is always faster as that person runs a little less than 400m sometimes. It's not a completely accurate split. The only accurate splits are the 3rd and 4th one if I remember correctly. Good running all the same.

Lynch had a solid run,Barr was as usual savage over the last 100m,Murphy got eaten up on the 3rd leg,Morrissey was stuck in no mans land after the 3rd leg so could really only bring it home like he did.
The results from Florida really threw the team up in the air I think.
It would have been tought that the team was going to be Kervick,Barr,Morrissey and Gregan before Florida.Maybe lynch nabbing a spot.
Murphys good run in Florida was ironically bad for the team I think.Yes he deserved his spot based on times.

The dropping of Gregan was a poor decision even taking his Florida run into account. The removal of your main 400m guy can only impact poorly on the teams morale and confidence.
