Looking to get away next weekend, anyone been to either or both these cities and can recommend one over the other!? I've read on here that Copenhagen is quite expensive, but can't imagine Milan being too cheap either!

Haven't been to Copenhagen, but as a non-shopping afficionado, I found Milan deathly boring. Don't remember it as particularly expensive though.

been to both and milan for me. more to see and do and you will probably enjoy better weather at this time of the year in milan. milan is also located perfectly for easy day-trips to places like lake como or stresa (lake maggiore) which are both must visits.

in saying that you can't really go wrong with copenhagen either. its far more laid back than milan. malmo about 20 minutes or so by train from copenhagen has a nice beach if the weather is good.

Any recommendations to fit in?? realistically I'll only have Saturday and most of Sunday to venture about, I've heard about trips to Lake Como, but would that take up a whole day?

Lake Como is about 45 - 55 mins on the train from Milan. It's a wonderful spot and it should be nice this year weather wise. I visit from time to time as I have friends living there. Having said that as nice as it is I have yet to fall in love with Milan, I've been to Copenhagen many times however and that would be my choice over the two.
