    Hi,

I will be travelling to Costa Del Sol in the Fuengirola area at the end of August. It will be our first time visiting this area and we have no idea what to expect. Will be going with my mother and sister, both are in their 50's and 20's. The place we're staying in doesn't provide any entertainment and we are wondering what is the night time entertainment like in Fuengirola as we will be dining out each night and then hopefully find a lively pub to enjoy the entertainment then.

Would you recommend any bars etc that does great entertainment, music etc..?? :)

For a special night out restaurant Valparaiso is worth a visit . It's not a cheap night , but lovely as an dressy night. Check for the entertainment as each night differs . For example, a tenor one night , frank Sinatra tribute another , flamenco dancing , etc ... Followed by dancing til about 2 am. This may not be what you are looking for at all ... It's a short taxi ride from Fuengirola . About €10 each way or bus stops outside door . Great atmosphere there with hundreds of photos on the walls of all the Stars , movie and music that have eaten there . It's run by two Italian brothers who add to the whole experience .

Was there a few times, can't really remember the names of places but there is lots of places along the beach and in the town itself to east out etc

If you can find this guy playing when you're there he's well worth seeing, a great Frank Sinatra/Rat Pack tribute if you'd be into that. Seen him a few times and he's great. Not sure if his website is up to date. Looks like he does play in the restaurant mentioned above but a lot of other places too so some dates might be better than others.

    Irish bars lots off there

Morning time for breakfast is Cheers down the north end Los Boliches Galway guy owns it they do typical British /Irish breakfast and do lunch and dinner as well .
Entertainment is what you make there and the large telly,s spread around the large outdoor terrace with music sports etc .

Molly bar is good evening time bar Northern Ireland guy and |Scottish lass run own it but more the south end fishing lane where there are many restaurants
Indoors popular if there is sports events as several large screens .
Food They do basic snack type food themselfs hamburgers and so forth but most food types can be arranged the restaurants beside them are friends and will cater to most all food needs for them .

The outdoors terrace often gets cool breeze up the street on warmer nights like August tends to do .Tends to be late closing time ~2 AM hint hint private party after closing has been known to happen if your Irish .Good sound proofed bar when closed up to sing your heart out

Four other Irish bars within close reach of that bar varing entertainment some are just sports bars and others are like Irish bars at home for me Sorry not my type of bars as some are really English owned the original owners sold up many years ago .

There is special sports bar cant be unsaid "alley cats" los Boliches end 50 feet up the laneway from the beach side where the Cork Irish owner and side kick Scottish lass Jane have replicas of the British football cups .Wanna take picture of yourself holding FAI or League cup then must do that bar . Football mad Kids luv that bar .its a Manchester Untied meca .Its even winner with the non sports lot like myself as the crack is mighty there .

Tom's irish bar is next to Alley cats a friendly chap is tom .

Good take away or sit down food across from alley cat full chicken grilled for €7or half chicken for €4.50 as one example the rest is the normal burgers kebabs etc Its all good stuff with my Colombian friend and his side kick partner from Peru both speak English well

There are also some hotels on the sea front that do shows with singers bit pricey the drinks but good singers .There are a few Karoki bars and one is opposite Alley cats .

Thats small sample of the hundreds maybe even thousands of bars and restaurants from every part of the planet like India ,Pakistan ,China ,Spanish ,Argentinian ,Brazil ,Australia ,Ireland ,UK ,Danemark to name a few . Also the streets at night time have many street sellers mostly form Africa with every type of object to buy from watches to African carved objects of all sorts .Plenty so see at night

Crime does exist but its mostly low level stuff pick pockets that sort .For me its whole lot safer than most streets of Dublin .
There are cops every where on the beach areas as cops like to hang around the beach areas looking the pretty gals . Sure beats looking at boring empty suburban streets .

August can be hot so drink lots of water all the time for first few days .

Other than that well developed place is Fuengirola

Also Malaga city is great buzz easy cheap train 30 minute ride there and back for day trip Malga has more museums than you could visit in one months holidays just looking museums so have to be selective look the net first to choose what to see in Malaga .

car rental can be very expensive in August though . Scooters can be got but august is expensive .water sports for kids is there with water parks and on the beach water castles .Speed boats do paraasending towing .Ski boats and water cruises exist from the marina

Also there is bike and electric bike and electric scooter and electric wheel chair rentals . For elderly the long shore front of some 3 miles long the electric wheel chairs can be handy especially in heat to get around the town with .
Footpaths on the sea front are extra very wide for the beach lovers crowds to promenade day and night

Lots of bars on the marina look the boats that most mere mortals cant even afford to own the anchors on them

    Enjoy your stay there

    Jed
