I loved that engine, had it in 150bhp form in 2 B5 Passats and put 100K miles on each. Oil service intervals with correct oil is especially essential with this engine so I would be looking for proof of that (even though IMO a stamped main dealer book is no guarantee, I would nearly rather get a get an excel sheet from a DIYer).

MPG ok driven with manners, mid/high 30's no problem.

The 1.8T in the A4 was 163bhp, decent bit of poke in them too.

At first glance, the drivers side floor looks well worn or it might just be covered in sh1te and giving that impression. Either way, you'd imagine they'd have cleaned it first.
