Does anyone know if it's possible to get a secondment from 2nd level or further ed to third level lecturing? Does it ever happen or is there any scope for it for someone who could meet the 3rd level requirements?

A colleague of mine was offered a lecturing position in an IT but was refused secondment. He didn't take it as a result. Within the year the apprenticeship sector imploded and the person who took the job was let go.

Good call by him at the time, you have to be careful. There are new rules about duration of secondments etc also I have heard max 5 years
