Last pay from job less than expected??

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me.

I left my last job on April 5th.
The last pay I got from them was on march 29th, (for February's worked hours)

I just got my pay 28th April and it's significantly lower than my basic salary was. (Usually €1800, I got €840)
I had 20 days annual leave remaining when I left, and I had taken a week holidays in jan (days carried over) & a week in march that I had earned extra from last year.

I contacted HR and I was told my salary was lower because they deducted the holiday pay from me as I hadn't earned these days because I'm leaving so early in the year.

Not sure on the legalities/what they can deduct from my pay ?? And so significantly?

Does your contract allow you to carry leave days over? Did they give you a payslip showing how your pay was calculated?

You are aware that your annual holiday allowance is based on the assumption that you work the full year; your actual holiday allowance would be approximately 6.8 days for this year based on actual months worked and not 20.

Yep, but with that 6.8 days is what i used in march, so it should cancel out. And we were allowed carry days over from the previous year but they must be used by march. I carried 5 days over = one week. Still haven't received payslip or p45 from them and it's been a month since I left now....
