How do you get photos from an iPhone onto a computer ?

Email them, upload them to somewhere like Dropbox, use iCloud Photo Library and access them from there, or just plug in your iPhone to your computer and use an image capture app.

Just click on the dcim folder under my computer. Drag and drop the photos from the folders inside there to the computer.

I wouldn't bother going into the DCIM folder. Right click the iPhone in My Computer and click "import photos and videos"

Never knew about that. It's good to know.
