Doctor's Prescription

    Today I was advised by the local pharmacy that my prescription was out of date, due to the fact it was written by the doctor over 6 months ago. There were 5 dispensings against it. It was a repeat prescription, and normally 6 dispensings are made before I get a new prescription. My question is, should there be 6 dispensings before i require a new prescription?

    No prescriptions are only valid for six months then they are out of date and cannot be fulfilled

    Doesn't matter how many dispensings were in it
