I am not going to comment as my brain has been washed by my employer in all the worst possible ways to put this house down . I think yes they offer great products but do wonder about the share values and the fact they are US nested , Any opinions out there ?

I've worked in organisations that have fire-eye installed and have responded to the alerts given by it and seen the reports it produces. I'm a big fan of it and it really does work really well imo, it (or one of its similar competitors) are a must have for large organisations imo, scary how many callbacks and malwares are missed by traditional products.

I've also gotten fairly in depth technical presentation about its actual working etc and been quite impressed.

Don't really have many opinions on the US base or share values, but I guess if you're anti NSA malware then of course that's a potential issue :-) The flip side to that is which large companies like them and in a similar space don't have a significant US offering and base? I'm not sure but I'd imagine they all do?

YE i always thought very highly of the solutions and offerings they have , an ex-colleague works for them and tried to entice me to join last year in the cork office. Current employer tries to smash down every single milestone they pass ( And i ****in hate that). In the zero day hardware appliance sector they are the dogs nuts i thought . My place, then does a very similar solution but based on virtual appliances ( No dedicated hardware required). The Target breech in 2013 was one we would not have seen had the employees of target listened to Fire-eye, in that they turned off an auto removal feature and in tandem with the staging environment they imply in the zero day solution , malware was flagged and Target ignored the warnings and thus released the malware into the live network.

The NSA friendly malware items are one for debate i guess versus Japanese or Chinese / Russian sec softwares . How does any one come to make a choice with all the bad press and false reporting from non neutral houses in these sectors ?
