Condom sizes

I was buying a packet of condoms in Boots and I asked the lady behind the counter if they came in different sizes. She was flummoxed and said that she thought they were all the same size. I showed her two different Durex boxes. One said 56mm and the other 52mm. Has anyone an idea what these measurements mean? I have no notion where my member fits into this range as I would not know where to start measuring.

Last week in France I saw a packet of King Size condoms but I don't know if they were for Texans. I spoke to a pharmacist there and she didn't know anything about the different sizes. She did say that she could order small sizes if I wanted them. She did not offer to measure me.

I am serious about getting a condom that is a snug fit and will not slip off. How do I ensure this?

First I heard of it but I do know that the ones in the states seemed to be small.

I think the vast majority of condoms are one size for all. I would think the 52mm 56mm would be the circumfrence. It should be possible to get larger or smaller ones though. I've often seen XL type ones in some places. Not sure if they're durex though and I don't think I've seen smaller ones either.

For what it's worth I personally found that the Durex Sensations ones were a much snugger fit than the Extra Safe ones.

I highly doubt that any place will offer a measurement service! No offence, but are you serious on this bit?

The bit about measuring was tongue in cheek. The Irish lady was a bit of a slagger but the French lady almost cried when she thought I was lacking in the circumference department. The Irish lady felt that large sizes were made for the ego. She also said that it was not women who were obsessed by penis size.

There's some small difference between various different brand and style of condoms, but it's pretty minimal really, a few mm between them. The biggest issue (excuse the phrasing) is that most pharmacies either stock their own brand, which are usually horrible!, or Durex, so it's tough to find much variation unless you go online, which is where I purchase my condoms for the most part!

It's incredibly hard to find King Size condoms in Ireland!

I'd be a bit cynical of the whole XL and King Size condoms. I'd be worried fellas would be buying them as an ego boost and ignore the fact that they might be more prone to slipping off resulting in reduced effectiveness.

I agree. Everyone should go with what they feel most comfortable with and is why I always tell people to try different brands and variations. I actually find Durex to be terrible for the most part.

It's the circumference of the little rubber ring at the entrance that ends up round the base of your penis and holds the condom on. Most people won't notice much difference between one 52mm and one 56mm, some may though. Neither should slip off unless you have an unusually narrow penis.

You can order 'variety packs' of condoms from a few different places online, just Google it. Maybe pick one of them up and try a few different ones out and see which you prefer.

They fit are the best http://www.theyfit.co.uk/pages/fitkit

Trojans and durex XL aren't really that big.

To loose and it slips off . Too tight and it'll break and/ or cut off circulation. And kill the mood

Mates do large in boots. Much better.

The first time I bought condoms in a chemist (around 1988, many moons ago), I was asked by the girl, was I looking for small, medium or large. I was flummoxed. I thought she meant penis size so I shyly said "medium" not wanting to seem big headed ! She meant the number of condoms in the pack. She was deliberately trying to embarrass me I think

the mm measurement is the nominal width, different types of condoms have different nominal width's, there is a chart for the durex brand here:

    Durex size chart

the nominal width's vary from 52mm up to 58mm so can make a difference, the best way is to buy a box in each size and see which fits you best tbh

That's just durex , 58 can still be very tight. My fit do up to 69

None of the standard sizes fit me, so I just wear a large bin-liner.

walkingshadow - I've asked you in the past to take the Personal Issues forum seriously - yellow carded. Further breaches will result in an infraction or ban.

Chemical Byrne - please just report the post in future if you have an issue with it, and let us deal with it.

How do you measure the penis? This is for the made to measure service. I always find the condoms too long. It might be just me but they get very baggy.

I'm not sure if "too long" should be a problem. Only roll out what you need. In other words when putting on the condom, only peel back enough to cover your knob. If they are "baggy", then you may just need a tighter circumference. Because of the small units of measurement, and variations in measuring techniques, it's probably easier to order a few different sizes and see what works for you.
