Hi all i am currently in the market for a Stove and i dont know what one i should buy.. i know the Scan Anderson gives out good heat but the price
    range is abit off putting.

I priced around and came across 3 stoves that i think i like

    Clarke Regal 2 6kw €550

    Scan Anderson 4 - 6kw €1150

Franco Belge Savoy 8kw price unknown..

i have seen other stoves like Standley and Henley for around 500 euro but dont know would they last or give out that much heat..

    Fittings are 500 extra..

What output do you require? closer to 6kw or 8kw?

It is important to get the right output for your space. (loads of threads on here on it)

Henley are considered a very good brand (many on here putting them a head of stanley at this stage)

Scanchez will prob will along when he is free and has amazing knowledge on them.
If you do a search you will find him comparing different 6kw stoves.

Stay well away from the Clarke, the most basic Chinese product.

I think Franco Belge are part of Nestor Martin who closed down...Can anyone confirm this?
The Scan is a decent product, think it's wood only though.A bit expensive I suppose.
Dovre and Dru are 2 brands which don't get enough mention on here.Saw a very fascinating Dovre 35 vintage telly like stove last weekend, mad looking.
As Mac John said Henley will have several great quality options such as the Thames 8,Cambridge 7.5 matt and enamel and Druid 5.But what is your exact required heat output.

I can give you exact options if I have that info.

You would need approx 7kw based on decent insulation and 8ft ceiling assumption.
Dru are a great stove and don't get mentioned enough really.
Again you pay for the quality but you couldn't go wrong with one if you like it and are willing to pay for it.

So would you pick a Dru or an Anderson ?

If it was myself I'd probably go with the Dru.

I know the op is comparing it with the Anderson but would you go with the Dru over the Henley?

Am I right in thinking it is a premium price over the Henley?

To be honest I'd be happy with both for quality.
My preference would be aesthetic only so not really important here.
Henley are cheaper because the Irish market demands that,as Dru are foreign based it is normal for them to be at a higher price point. If the lady prefers the Dru and is happy to pay for it then it's still a good choice.

On a side note, the Irish stove market is not reflective of the European stove market. The bulk of sales here are based on price point only whereas in most European countries it is seen as an investment and people are willing to pay more for a quality product.
The Irish market is getting better lately with more people considering quality as the most important factor.
I was told today that a certain retailer in Clare is picking up a lot of quality product business due to customers who tried a cheap budget stove in the last few years and have to change it out already. There will be a lot more of this happening over the next few years. So be warned, pay for quality and service.

i think you hit the nail on the head for me. i know that i be saving about 1k if i went with a cheap one but in the long run i would end up replacing it with another cheap one 2 or 3 years down the line. i would like to pay for quality more so,

i can buy the stove now and wait till about 3 months to buy the fittings. i look around and try and buy them from a supplier more so then a shop selling both.

as i was prices from 590 to 480 for the 90 degree bend. some places are telling me i would need 2 45 degree bends. 9meter roll of Chimney Liner
the Chimeny Top to stop rain from getting in and a 100 ltr bag of Stones for Insulation

so im hoping if i can buy from a supplier that only deals with the fittins i might get them cheaper
