Casual Staff, and Tax implications

    Hi

We are looking to direct hire some casual staff for 1 day of work - they will earn approx €100 - €120 for the days work. Our company does not normally operate in Ireland - we are treating this day event as a tester. We will probably hire circa 20 staff for the day.

Do we need to report and submit Tax, PRSI, Levies, etc., on these payments? Is it dependent on the tax status of the employees? Obviously it would be easier if we didn't as I assume it will require registrations, etc., which for a one day event would be a pain. But we want to be compliant, etc.

We may look to pay the staff in cash at the end of the day, although not certain yet.

Any guidance (or redirection) will be gratefully received.

    Molden
