    When will these be replaced?
There was one of them parked up outside the terminal in Kerry on Sunday while people were being called on the tannoy to go to the front door to get a bus to Dublin as the flight had been cancelled.
    Plane: St. Fintan.

I imagine they will just continue to expand the fleet with the 72-600s

Would it not be better replacing it with the 42-600 seat for seat replacement rather than having a larger aircraft with more empty seats ?

They only have 2 left, there's been 2 scrapped over in Düsseldorf last year. -CBK and -EHH are the only ones left I think, I imagine there'll be 42-500/600s bought used to replace them.

Don't think BYO even made it to Germany after its fiasco at SNN last year. 42-600s would be pleasant. I think they are a bit heavier than the 42-320s though for movement fees?

The extra weight might keep it on the ground next time there's an 80 knot wind...
I'd expect another 2 - 3 years out of them anyway, maybe once the Donegal PSO is up the last will be gone.

The PSO is unlikely to be stopped - they'll be bidding again I'm sure

    CBK and EHH remain
They will be here for another while anyway to operate the PSO routes but their reliability isn't always the best, especially EHH

If BYO hadn't had the accident, would it still be in service today?

I think it was planned for write off anyway towards the end of that year. That's why it never got painted in the EI colours

Great workhorse of an aircraft, seriously economical to run also in terms of maintenance and fuel which is what makes them so popular with airlines.

I love ATR's but im also growing fond of the Dash 8 Q4 how do they compare to ATR 72? The dash seems very powerful to my untrained mind when flying on board.

Dash's main advantage is speed - but at a fuel use disadvantage. So most operators barely use it

The Dash is a more powerful and faster aircraft then the ATR, it was marketed as a prop aircraft delivering jet type performance, but it won't touch an ATR for economy of operation.
