Tractor restoration and parts

    must be getting a fever of some sorts to stray from mf :eek: but i guess ill find a cure soon.
    bought a IH 674 from another diy man, missing gear linkages by seat,( tyre lever must do for now :confused: finding neutral is lottery ) and few other bits. main problem for now seems to be starter,
    he fitted a new starter , but he thinks there should be a spacer plate similar to one fitted in MF399 with the 6354 engine , in absence of that he fitted 2 thick washers but starter seems to idle as opposed to turning flywheel some times. rang main dealer and he cant remember a spacer plate fitted to anyone of the IH models.but said 100 mm is distance from nose to plate.
    any advice re parts sourcing or revamping appreciated.

    has anyone ripped out one of them , this one is dual power , im just wondering s there any or lots of tricks involved ree linkages etc, as general rule this is MF, NH, Landini and now Class country not forgetting J Deere. IH never took over from David Brown when replacements for the 996 etc horsepower and gear-change became an unattractive issue around here
