We have to head down to Wexford Town for the June Bank Holiday weekend and we are looking for a hotel somewhere in the area (a short enough drive to get in and out, within 30-45 mins maybe) where I could get a game of golf on the Sunday and would have a spa that she could go to. Looking for somewhere reasonably priced also if anyone has any recommendations?

    Kellys in Rosslare?

Spa, but no golf course, but there is one just up the road... as in a couple of minutes

Seafield has golf and a spa but would be about 45min drive from Wexford. Wasn't a big fan of the course myself but others seem to enjoy it.

This is the best option really. Kelly's is the nicest hotel in Rosslare.

The main course will be busy, but its a nice round. There is also a 12 hole back course that is a lot more informal (and easier) if she wants to join you?

You could also stay in Wexford town, you'll only be 20 mins away from the golf course.

    Hey Dr.rieux

Your best bet is Kelly's in rosslare strand about 15/20 mins from wexford town top notch spa according to my girlfriend (and bank balance) I am a member in rosslare strand golf club and not to sound biased but it's playing better then I have ever seen it really tough lynx course.

There use to be a deal with Kelly's where they offered discounts for the golf club might be worth asking a green fee for rosslare strand on Sunday is 35 but you would want to get on quick as places fill up ridiculous fast.. also have a 12 hole further down the road.

it's very popular.. not cheap either!

I stayed in the Ferrycarrig before and it wasn't to bad. Not sure what golf is near it though, but it's probably no more than half an hour from Rosslare if you wanted to play there

As already posted, Ferrycarrig is decent and Wexford Golf club is only 5 minutes away. Enniscorthy GC is only 20 mins north or Rosslare Strand 20 mins south. Both are good courses.

Just had another thought - bring herself to Monart. Just 30 mins from Wexford and handy for Enniscorthy GC. Lorry loads of brownie points (you'll need a lorry load of cash too though!)

Monart is great, but not cheap. Bit of a bummer forking out for it and then spending the day somewhere else playing golf. Not many things I'd say this about where the option of golf is involved, but I'd recommend anyone going to Monart to relax and spend the time there. Kind of reminded me of an asylum, everyone walking around in dressing gowns and drinking wine :)

Kelly's is great fun, but I wouldn't choose it if it was just myself and the misses going away for a break. Any time I've been there it's been overrun with kids! If you're going as a family, then that's different.

Why not stay at The Talbot - grand hotel with nice rooms. You are in the town on the quay and the golf courses are only minutes away. They have a leisure centre with spa treatments available. Some excellent restaurants within 5 mins walk of the hotel too!

Would like to hear from these 'others' of whom you speak! Have not met one person who rates the course.

Kellys is so popular and, as pointed out, the place will be over-run with kids. You might just be thankful it's booked out. That said, it's a grand place to spend time and Rosslare next door makes it the ideal destination.

The Ferrycarrig is the north side of Wexford. Been there a couple of times and it's fine, but don't know anything about a spa. Golf - I'd still look at driving the 20-30 minutes to Rosslare GC. Enniscorthy is a fun country course but not of the quality of Rosslare.

If you pick Monart - the golf club for you would be Bunclody.
