    Are these birds unusual in ireland?
    Seen 6 today on a small lake, have never seen them before.

    Might they have been regular old Irish Coots that you saw?

    Are you sure they weren't Eurasian Coot? They're very widespread.

    Regular old Irish Coot as most of us refer to them and Eurasian Coot are one and the same...
    What was different about yours?
