Paid with debit card but money still in account

    I paid for nct online and also paid for 2 hotels in England last Thursday. Money for one hotel came out then was put back in. Nothing else has came out but everything is paid for. Any thoughts.

    Well 
    ~ the NCT don't process payment until the day of you actual test.

    ~ the hotels, pending where & how you made your booking would process payment on day of arrival. The hotel who charged and reversed may have charged in error & realised after, thus reversing the charge again.

    Thank you for your post and welcome to Boards.ie. 

    While a transaction on your card maybe approved straight away, it may not appear as a debit on your account until the retailer fully processes the approval code provided by the bank. 

    As such, it would be best to contact the retailers to query their processing procedures. You can also call BOI Direct on 0818 365 365 where a representative will be more than happy to assist you with this query.
