Folks, I need a bit of advise. I've been training by HR since DCM 2014 with a max HR of 189 which is about a year old - it was derived from a 5k race. which i was pretty confident in.

Last night at the Samsung Night Run I got a max of 201 in the first mile at a average pace- which settled down after i made my way around all the 60min plus runners in the sub 45min section (another story) anyway, Is it possible that this is my new max or is it false spike with the Garmin.

    I've attached the HR image

False Spike, if it was a new max it would happen towards the end of a race and build up gradually. I often get these near the start of my runs. They can be ignored.
