2008 Opel Astra 1.7 Gears are stiff

Last few days it has gotten difficult to change between gears. There is a certain friction coming from somewhere when trying to move between gears. Any ideas where to start looking?

Check for Clutch adjustment.

Cheap start is try bit of grease on the ball socket under gear lever, then check cables are not catching under lever/engine bay.
