8k pump fit for 2100? i know the belmac 1600 has an 8 k pump, takes around 3 mins to fill. will be longer on that yoke your looking at .

fair enough price if shes fresh paint, no rust and decent tyres, i would ask if the vanes in the pump have been refurbed also.

i would have her pumping water , that will tell if shes leaking or not, as slurry isnt so handy for finding holes.

Make sure the brakes are working correctly. If they aren't, make him put them right. Not unknown for the shoes to be removed completely.............

He did tell me they are fine but I'd be a lot happier if he would still put new breaks on her.a tank that old how much life would be left in her

Op, Could u stretch to a new tank ? Put the payments over 5 years and the tank still be good for 10 more after its paid for. Worth pricing around the finance houses to see what it would cost you. You know what you have then.

That tank more then likely has its best times seen ,I would recommend a hispec 1600 gallon ,jurop pump Russian tyres more likely see one off a farmer for €4 k. I would be wary of the abbey ,they seemed to rust a lot from that era

I agree re the hi spec. A friend bought a 02 2350 before Christmas and I gave him a had tidying it up and spraying it. The barrel on it was like new, there was a couple of small spots of surface rust but no rot anywhere, perfect inside in it aswell. Very well made tank with a lot of years left in it yet.

1600 gallon tank would be a option for me to as most of my land is around my farm I'd have around 20 acres 4mills way tho

I seen a contractor going with a span new 3500gal galvanised major. He must think he's on the American plains. Such a sow of a yoke.

Im told a contractor down the road has bought a tanker with a Bauer pump and a mixer both attached. Uses it for pumping slurry with the umbilical pipes. Will post a picture when I get close to it.

Hardly a FIAT 130 in front of it

Never handle it Reggie. Lad near here has a Redrock 3000. Ok if you have dry land and can lose most of the load before needing to turn on the headland.

Contractor got an abbey 3500 tandem last year, was afraid to let it on the farm with the size of it, it done less damage and more manoverable than his 2600 majors

Ain't my land to let them out on :D

Could you imagine trying to explain to the boss why that tanker was buried to her axles in the middle of a field :)

Looking at a 2200 rossmore at the mo. Full galvanised - chassis and all. coming in slightly cheaper than a painted hyspec or abbey. Have had an 1100gln rossmore for 25 years and a 1600 for 20 years with no expense, so really cant fault them

Neighbour got a Connor 3500gln tandem axle as well, would say it's easier on the tractor when on the road as well.

Have a NC 2250 ordered this few weeks, trading in a 1600 2004 Hi-Spec, costing 10800euros so I am getting 5200euros of a trade in. TFM only offering 3500euros trade in against an Abbey.

Anyway. I was with my advisor yesterday re: SFP and he said that tankers MAY be part of the next TAMS2 which should have more announced in the coming weeks so he suggested I hold off and see how itplays out.

Sorry OP, kinda went solo there but maybe if that does occur then maybe you can avail of the 60% grant that is being mentioned.

Not sure on the straight price.

Dealing direct with them, which we have done for a number of years - have tractor from them etc. you're talking ~€14.5k for 2200 with trade in of 25yr old 1100 gln with perished tyres and no pipe.
Priced abbey and hyspec for painted 2250 was coming in around 16.5k straight plus about 2.5k to galvanise.

Basically I'd say the rossmore is a similar price galv as abbey and hyspec are painted...

Are the pumps and tyres the same? You wouldn't be long spending 3-4 grand under a tank these days. Have to agree with you on build quality of Rossmore tanks, they're built to last.

Haven't herd of any grants coming for tankers anyway of finding out be 4 I go down the road of a second hand one

What's the benefit of a sprung drawbar? Is it only for long haul road trips?

Quoted €300 for wide angle pto connection to tanker, is this necessary?

The sprung drawbar saves allot of jumping in the tractor. When the tanker takes into a bounce it works aginst the bounce.

The wide angle pto will have a much higher tolerance to working at an angle in a tight yard or slight bends in the field. It's worth the extra €300 IMO

Both definitely worth the money, it's amazing how little of a bend will have the shaft rattling away without the wide angle. And at times you wouldn't think the drawbar is doing a lot until you look back and watch the spring flexing, certainly when you get used to it and then go back to a solid drawbar you certainly miss it anyways :(

With a wide angle pto you can keep the pto on when you're going round a corner and don't have to turn the pto off like with a normal shaft.
