Someone reversed into the passenger door of my 05astra setting of the seat air bag, the door is well dented and I was thinking the easiest repair would be to replace door an replace seat with air bag in it and reset the air bag light would this work as simple as it sounds?

And would swooping the seat with another with an air bag and resetting the air bag light do the job? Cheers

The seat airbag is easy to replace , you can do it with the seat still in the car.

At the back off the seat gently prise the fabric away from where it held at the bottom off the seat and then up the side the airbag is at , this will let you get at the back off the air bag , 3 nuts to remove and job almost done.

The bag will pull out now with just the connector holding it , prise up the grey clip carefully , then this allows you to pull out the green connector from the airbag unit.

It is important to check that you haven't damaged the connector in any way (very easy to do) as it will not connect properly and the air bag light will stay on.

If you do damage it a loom is available from vx for about a tenner , and as said before either disconnect the battery or you can just unplug the seat at the front from the car loom , safety first:thumbs:

Looks like you don't need to replace the seat.

Swapping the Seat might be easier by the sound of it.
