Not sure if this is appropriate, so mods please lock or remove if so..

Anyway, had an issue with a condom during sex with my partner last night. I put the condom on him, very quickly, forgot to pinch the tip, and when i put it on him, the tip of it was kind of pointing downwards. It rolled down fine. We didn't think anything of it at the time (stupidly), and continued on. At no point did it slip off or roll up so it was always on. Also, he didn't finish inside of me either. Ive read up a bit and can't seem to find much of an answer to whether it was safe or not. All i can find is that its not safe to flip it (we didnt) or if it slips off (which it didnt). It was an extra safe condom, from what I can gather is that it wouldn't be any less safer unless he flipped it or it slipped. Wondering should I be too worried?

If the condom didn't come off you have nothing to worry about

If the condom didnt come off then you should be fine, however if it will make you feel better you could take Plan B, available in most chemists and that should ensure that if anything did come out you are covering all bases. You can talk to the chemist about what to expect when you take Plan B

Personally if I was unsure, I'd take Plan B....I'd rather take Plan B than have an unwanted pregnancy..but I'm sure mega careful.

OP you may want to look into additional forms of contraceptives for yourself, condoms are great but they slip off, tear etc. I've had a copper IUD for the past 7 years and its been amazing. I never have to worry if I could be pregnant. There are heaps of options so talk to your GP...even if you arent in a relationship and are having a casual thing, its peace of mind (I'm not advocating not using a condom but having a condom plus something else should be rock solid)

    Good Luck

You don't necessarily have to pinch the tip of it, although it is 'best practice' and it doesn't matter at all that the tip of it was pointing downwards. Pinching the tip is done to squeeze the little bit or air trapped in there away, as having a little air pocket in there can increase the chance of the condom bursting. But if it didn't burst, there's no problem.

    You're grand.

As mentioned the condom didn't burst or slip off, so you should be fine, but if you were really concerned and worried about pregnancy and can a contraceptive pill, then I recommend that you do.
