speding fines from italy

    hi last October on our honeymoon we hired a car for a week, then in Febuary i recieved a fine in the post for speeding which was a surprise to me, i paid it staight away which was 48 euro. then on Friday I received another fine for speeding but this one was 130 euro, as i a tight on money at the moment could i get away with not paying it?

    You could potentially find yourself cuffed and brought to court the next time you step foot in Italy. It's very unlikely but then again; don't do the crime if you won't pay the fine.

    The added element here is the hire car which I presume is how they've found you. If it was one of the larger companies that could potentially cause issues for you in hiring a car in future. Notionally I suppose you could find yourself landed with penalties and charges for not paying, perhaps with the rental company attempting to recoup.
