EU citizen marrying a non-EU citizen while in Ireland

    Question:

As a EU (but non Irish) citizen living in Ireland, if I marry a non-EU citizen will she get residency rights?

The only info I could find was if she was already my spouse before I moved to Ireland, which is not the case.

If she is from a visa required country then she applies for a short or long stay visa as a spouse of EU national through local consulate or embassy. Look up www.inis.gov.ie for further info. Proof or relationship is the most time consuming documentation to put together

Yes, If I remember correctly, my wife (American) just had to come with me to the immigration office on the quays in Dublin with marriage cert and passport, possibly birth cert too. In return, she got an immigration card and a stamp in her passport. That was nearly 11 years ago. She is now a citizen.

No I'm sorry this is totally incorrect in the OP's circumstances. If you marry a non-EU citizen when you are both already in Ireland, all you need to do is apply to the EU Treaty Rights Section at INIS with Form EU-1 and the required documents, mainly identity documents, marriage certificate, proof of address and evidence that you are exercising your EU treaty rights in Ireland (i.e. working, usually). It's incredibly straightforward.
