Quick one for ye lads. Was out for a stroll last night and deceided to pop in for a pint. Left the camera (Nikon D3100) inside in my bag down under the table. Went to the toilet and came back and found my pint missing but few mins later found someone had spilled it all over my bag and drenched the camera. Dried the camera straight away and got home and stripped it down and put lens into a box filled with rice to dry it out. Seems to be no issues with the camera, tried it with another lens and worked fine, bu when I connect the drenched lens, come's up 'No lens attached' on the screen. Cleaned contacts with alcohol cleaner and cue tips but still same issue. Camera will shoot in Manual mode but really foggy and with no Apature control available and all other mode settings gets the error. Anyone been in similar situation know am I looking at something saveable or is the lens Kaputt??

Hi, bad luck about the lens. You can dry out the internals using Silica Gel crystals. Put lens in a sealed plastic bag with a the crystals, seal and leave overnight. This will absorb any remaining water, but might leave behind the other contents of the beer. It's a long shot but worth trying. Good luck.

You can buy cheapish Silica Gel crystals from pet stores as reusable cat litter!!!

Or use white rice. :D It works just as well.

But, there might have been damage already. Try and see.

What lens is it? Is it just a Kit lens or something more valuable?
