Multi Jet is Fiat talk for high pressure common rail fuel injection system.

I had a 1.3 multijet diesel Grande Punto. The engine suffers a bit of lag on take off but pulls well once on the move. Fuel consumption is quite good too. I've had no reliability issues with mine but the biggest potential issue with that engine would seem to be stretched timing chains. I don't know if it afflicts all or just those which are not serviced. Some complaints also of the odd EGR Fault but that's it. The injectors are allegedly fine and there are no DMF's or DPF's on the older ones. Apparently this engine gives far more trouble in GM installations because their service intervals were extended longer than Fiat.

Suppose the best advice anyone could give here is do your due diligence and make sure the things is mechanically sound and has evidence of being serviced before you consider buying.
