New Amiko Alien and I'm lost.

    Hi guys,

My Openbox S9 packed in last night, as the tuner failed.

I went out today and bought an Amiko Alien Mini Combo HD, and it's already set up with the very basics, like the free channels, BBC, ITV, etc.

However, I wanted to install either Sparks, or Enigma 2 on it, but I'm a total newbie to this box, and I'm totally lost. I'm not sure which is the best to install to be honest.

Either way, I can't see any cable port to connect the box to a pc or laptop. I have no idea how to use filezilla, and it's wrecking my head all day trying to get it done via USB. It picks up the USB, saying it's connected, and although I have the file on there, when I go to upgrade via USB, it says no file.

I have the USB formatted to FAT32, and if I go into the USB via the box itself, I can see the file in there, it just won't do the upgrade/install.

    Any help or ideas please?

Please be gentle, I'm a total newbie to this one.

    Thanks.
    .

Post a link to the box. If it's the Amiko mini combo HD it's not the Alien, it's a proprietary locked down box that does not come with Spark and you cannot install enigma on it

    Hi guys..

I got this up and running.

Found a guide on the net, and the software I was looking for was already on the box.

Just made a few changes, and it's working away now.

    Thanks for the replies.
