How much do you save?

Are you a saver or a spender? Do you regularly save? How much and how much compared to what you earn? I'm in my mid 30's and only really properly saving now. In the past I'd save a few grand but then it would go on something. Because my earnings fluctuate considerably month to month its hard to budget. However in times I have had money and spent it stupidly instead of saving or investing. Really regret not saving more in my early years. I'd always see if I had anything left over at the end of the month and try to save that - but you always spend what you have. Now I save at the start of the month and stick to that. Wish I had of done this years ago!
