Can get a very good deal for a return flight to thailand at the end of August, the flight is as fast as can be with short lay overs. I am a bit weary though, I usually try and get one from Emirates, Etihad or British Airways?

I am a frequent flyer with them and find them excellent. I would choose them in preference to almost any other airline I have flown with. Helsinki airport is totally hassle free for connecting also. Much better than any central European or London airport.

    As above, would recommend.
Well deserved good reputation. Experienced crews, good onboard product and a hub operation at HEL that is designed to make transfers hassle free.

Nothing wrong with them - but if its DUB-HEL on the initial sector it'll be Flybe Nordic operating it and we've no experience of their quality and consistency ex-DUB yet. If it is, it'll be an EJet to HEL which are fairly comfortable craft.

HEL is a great airport - easy to transit through and no matter the weather outside...it's shorts and t-shirt inside. The service is great from them

    Do it....

I fly regularly with flybe Nordic for Finnair also in both the jets and the turboprops and they are absolutely fine.

Can anyone update on this? I'm flying to Bangkok with them. Do they have in flight entertainment systems?

Here you go, I did a quick internet search for you and got the following, http://www.finnair.com/INT/GB/in-flight-entertainment

I'd say that it would be much quicker to list any long haul carriers that don't have personal screens as part of their IFE at this point.

Some mightn't, the fair only cost €140 excluding tax so I'm not expecting much. €20 to choose a seat too, so expecting a no frills affair.

Depends on which plane you get. I think they might still operate an old A330 to bangkok and im not sure what the ife on that is like. Probably not their best plane. They are replacing them with a350s the first of which just came into service last week but not yet on bangkok route.

It's been quite a while since I've flown Finnair (and then it was short haul only) but they weren't a no frills airline back then. They still have complimentary soft drinks on short haul flights as far as I know.

    Helsinki's a lovely airport too.

They still do complimemtary tea coffee and juice and only recenty introduced a fare without baggage included on short haul. Long haul i definitely wouldnt say they are no frills.

Helsinki is the nicest easiest airport in europe that ive seen.
