    Hi,

I know Lidl are doing a bike repair stand on Monday but was hoping to do abit of work over the weekend. I'm in Dublin, if anyone feels like selling their bike stand, let me know :)

I had a wander in today to take a look. It looks pretty identical to the Aldi one, unless I'm missing something.

I was only winding you up at a glance the clamp on the Lidl one looks better. I haven't compared them though I'm sure they're very similar.

They're useful for cleaning the bike and the odd light task, not sturdy enough for changing pedals or anything that requires a lot of torque.

Ah they're better than that. I've built up 3 bikes using that stand and regularly service each of them. Nothing on a bike except the bottom bracket requires that much torque.

Maybe it's because I've the lidl one :p

I build and restore about 3-4 bikes a week, the majority of them being rusty with seized components.

I took the plunge and bought the lidl one last Monday - it's just as good as my park tool one for holding heavy old bikes that need..ahem...some gentle persuasion...to loosen rusted or stuck pedals, crancks, b/bs etc.

for 30 quid you can't really go wrong!
