Love the style, not so much the price.

Knowledgeable watch people I need some steering. I've been lurking around here and /r/watches with a view to picking up a new watch but the budget doesn't stretch very far at all...

I really really like the style of http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/panerai-radiomir-1940-42mm-pam00512-the-panerai-many-were-waiting-for this but sadly my budget or ~€200 isn't going to get me very close.

Any suggestions for something of a similar ilk that is closer to my peasant budget?

    Thanks

Time factors do very high quality homages. Worth a look.

The time factors mentioned above are highly regarded.

Another option would be Getat. I have have one (Luminor style) a few years now and it's grand. You can have the watch built to your own "spec" if you want to make changes to hands, dial etc.
If you do go for a hommage, make sure you get a sterile dial (no branding).

Brilliant lads, thanks for the replies (and PMs) so far, plenty to keep me busy for the afternoon, I'll have the pay check spent before it hits the account! :)

Maranez have something similar enough, though a bit more chunky. Hard to find, but could be an option. Parnis is another homage similar to Getat, but I'm not sure if they do the Radiomir style, or just the ones with the crown guard.

The PRS20 is a great looking watch, but probably over budget.

I've had a Precista PRS20 and it's a lovely watch - if you can get one for around your budget (perhaps a little difficult given the current exchange rate) this will have the advantage of having a proper ETA movement rather than a Chinese clone. Just be aware that it has different lugs to the one that you've linked.

Otherwise go for a sterile homage from the Far East, as already stated. Getat is one option but there's also Jacksontse and Manbushijie and, I'm sure, others. A lot of these offer configuration options or even bespoke so you can fine tune the detail of your watch. I'd keep a little money back for a strap though - the ones from the Far East often come with something fairly derisory as standard and something like an ammo strap from the likes of Martu or Toshi (there are many, many others but I've had faultless dealings with both of these) will transform it.

Thanks very much lads, plenty for me to be going away and looking at, I think I'll sit on it for a week and see if I still love it... At the moment leaning towards something like http://www.siswatch727.com/showroom/model/T0165/templateProductDetails.do?ParentId=1240692015640036147&currentPage=2&editCurrentLanguage=1239717806671017347&webId=1239717806671017346&productId=1421588599313036797 , not as keen on the others with the crown protector...

Dajiwatch also do similar designs, have bought from them before twice and can recommend them. The Seagull movements in my experience are pretty reliable for the price. Main issue with watches at this price point are water resistance (or lack of).
