Hi all - hoping someone here might have had some experience dealing Michael Purcell Motors in Foxrock? I'm interested in a 2004 Ford Mondeo Ghia he is selling - car looks good to my untrained eye but I haven't been able to find anything on here giving any indication of what he's like to deal with or what reputation he has. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

who cares what he's like to deal with, if the car is good, which is up to you to get checked, you'll never see him again.

Your just not going to get much in the way of dealer cover when buying an 11 year old car from them.

The reality is that you need to approach buying cheap or old cars from dealers the same as you would a private sale. You need to have the car checked by a mechanic before buying it. This is why it is better to buy privately in this price range or age of car rather than paying extra for a dealer's profit margin while getting little or nothing extra from it.

That's Michael Purcell who used to be in charge of Esmonde Motors.

Bought 100's of cars off him there on a corporate basis, and my old Mondeo privately.

An absolute, 100% genuine Gentleman, and a great loss to the Ford dealer network when Esmonde's went under.
