Hi, thanks a million in advance for any advice! 02 Toyota rav4 failed nct this morning on emissions in high idle. lambda 0.92, Co 2.3% and jc 468ppm. Am sure these numbers will mean more to you guys than they do to me! I have booked it into the garage for Tuesday but was hoping you might be able to give me some insight into how big a deal this could be? I am guessing it's not great news to be honest. Low idle emissions and everything else was fine. I keep it serviced but there are 140,000 miles on the clock. I can't afford a new car so please tell me this isn't the end of my old car!

Don't panic. That yoke is running rich, possibly because of a leak around the intake somewhere, possibly because of an issue with a sensor - MAP/MAF, coolant temp, etc. Your mechanic will straighten it out. Is it using oil?
