State NON-CONTRIBUTORY PENSION

    In connection with the STATE NON-CONTRIBUTORY PENSION, is the 20,000Euro savings allowed for the person applying for the pension or is the spouse included in that figure. Is it 20,000 each or 20,000 for applicant & spouse. Thanks a mill.

    Spouse savings are included in the 20k. The way they see it is if spouse has 20k + then so has the other one.

    The couple's savings are added together then halved before the means test is done.
