Early bird reduction ends in 24 hours. You have 24 hours to avail of the early bird 10% reduction. Don't say you weren't told.

Fantastic race! I'd be back in a heartbeat if I wasn't working that weekend. :(

With less that 30 places now left for this years event we expect to sell out within the next few days. Never before had we such an interest and high demand for this race so early on. We will be operating a reserve list once we reach capacity but to ensure your place get entered now. Remember the early bird reduction ends tonight. We will load an up to date entry list later this evening.

We have only 5 places left for this years Rás Dhun na nGall. We will NOT be increasing the maximum numbers past 180 so get entered now.

Are the gaps right? I heard that as well as the three up the road there was a small group of 6 or 7 which came in ahead of the bunch.

Stage 1 results were revised. I don't think it made a huge difference in the GC.

That Saturday stage was something else. Wind according to met.ie records from their website has the westerly wind at between 45km/h at finner camp and 55km/h at malin head so presumably somewhere in between. Mad stuff with people blown into fields and ditches. Let half a wheel go and you were in big trouble.

Great weekend again, thanks to all involved.

This was a fantastic race. I was one of the people whose sole aim was simply to stay with the group each day, I was completely out of my league so while many of the people there actually raced I just fought to stay on, but despite ending up out the back each day the level of support from the spectators was phenomenal, they seemed to cheer absolutely everyone. I've never been in a race where there were so many, and such enthusiastic, supporters. It seemed like a true family/social event, which created the kind of atmosphere that any sports event aspires to have. It was brilliant.

A highlight for me was seeing a man, holding a small child in his arms, pushing a struggling rider up the road on Corkscrew Hill. He then turned back and gave me a shove too. It was a very effective push, he was some man to be running up that hill carrying child and pushing cyclist(s), I was very grateful but any brief worries about the safety of the child were completely dispelled when I heard its mad giggles.

Another highlight was riding back down Glengesh, it's a great road to descend, it made the hard climb up it worthwhile.

So despite the mad winds, the hard riding, the questioning of my own sanity for pitting myself against a field of riders that I was utterly outclassed by, the smell of burning brake pads, etc., my over-riding memory of it is of a very well organised event with massive local support (the hotel even let us use our rooms after the last stage, to shower and change, without charging us for it - very decent of you, The Nesbitt Arms!) - thanks to everyone involved! I'm still knackered but I want to go back and do it again.
