If I was driving a mates car on the driving other cars cover with my own insurance policy which provides third party cover in such cases and say I was to park that car and it was then stolen or destroyed while parked would the owners policy cover the claim? I am assuming as I wouldn't be driving the car at the time although I would have been using it prior to parking that it would revert to their policy?

It would be the owner insurance I think you were finished with it when you walked away from it.

Your own policy's third party extension would only cover the car while you are driving it. If the car was parked up and stolen then it would be the owner's policy which a claim would be made from.
