Bought car but taxbook is lost? How do i get it?

    bought car with taxbook lost
    car is a1 legit and i have name / address of last owner on book
    whats quickest way to get it?

    Contact the owner and get them to request a replacement using this form...

    owner is out of country in oz so that route is out sadly

    only option i can see is solicitor for alfa david and engineer report form

    must be a easier way?

    Solicitor route is the only way I can see it being done if he's out of the country...

    Yes, just get it inspected by main dealer and signed in front of solicitor or commissioner of oaths also I think.
    There is no issue really as long as you know the car is legit.

    Are the relatives of the owner still living at the address of the owner? If so I'd get them to request a new log book on the seller's behalf, when it arrives fill in your details and post it off to Shannon.

    You really should have got the seller to do the legwork before handing over the money as getting it changed into your name can now be more hassle for you rather than them.

    sorry to bump this but is it still the rf134 you fill out to apply for new taxbook?
    what form do i need to get garage to stamp?

    the solictor form is no prob

    I assume it's a Registration Certificate you are trying to get. For your own sake, if it is, start calling it that and not a TaxBook as you'll only ending up causing confusion with any correspondecne you have with Shannon, Gardai or Solicitor.
