    Hi

Just wondering do all crowns on pre molars need a post and will the post cost extra or is it usually factored into the price of a crown?

What is the success/lifespan of a post and crown?

    Thanks, MM

No all root canal treated teeth do not need posts it depends on how badly damaged it is.
They usually cost extra as there is extra work involved in making them.
The lifespan and success will depend on the condition of the tooth, the root canals quality, the post quality and the crown quality. Usually around 5-15 years. Its very variable and really is a last ditch effort to salvage the tooth.
