Grease Gun - Problem

    :o Long shot but here goes. I bought a Sealey Grease Gun in the local COOP over a year ago now, but only used it today as I had an old gun with grease still in it.

    Anyway new gun isn't working. The attachment valve at the end of the hose wont go on the nipple unless I loosen it a bit and even when I tighten it again the grease comes out around the nipple. opened it up and found a bit of metal blocking the central bore on the plastic spool inside. Got this free but still no luck.
    Any ideas? Wasted a whole evening on this. Old gun wont take the cartridges.

    Sealey would be a bad brand to begin with anyway so I'd trow it away just to avoid tormenting yourself in the future.
    The best grease gun I've used is a fuchs two handed one.
    The cartridge screws in and when empty you just screw out.
    Get yourself one of those new heads that are out too there a gift.
    Sorry I can't like link all these things I don't have enough posts yet.

    Anyway the gun is about 50 euro and the fancy head for it is about 20.
    Any decent motor factor /tractor spare store should have both

    Thanks JD3350. I'll get one.
    I wouldn't mind but the old gun was a great job, except you had to fill it from the can, so a little messy. Must have it over 25 years. It didn't take the cartridges.

    Like most older things they were brilliant at what they did.

    Hi johndeere3350

    Just one quick question - What make of Lock-On Coupler do you recommend?

    Found this one on e-bay;

    Well anyway, picked up a new nipple attachment (Make -Dargan) from local COOP. Put it on and worked fine for 30 mins or so, but then the hose burst on the bloody thing.

    Whatever you do, don't ever buy a Sealey Grease Gun. They're complete sh1te.

    I remembered too that I didn't the gun it at the local COOP. I got it free from work when they closed part of production. Brand new, never used.:D
