TSB Tracker mortgage- no discount for large payment; why?

    Hi,
My cousin has about 200k left on a tracker mortgage with TSB. She contacted them saying she was thinking of paying off about 90k and asked would they give any 'discount'/know some extra off the mortgage; they said no.

Why wouldn't they? tracker mortgages are losing banks money so I thought they'd jump at the chance.
    Thanks,
    Pa.

There is agreement now that at this stage trackers aren't loss-making, anymore.

Maybe not very profitable, but not loss-making anymore.

The blended cost of funds for banks has fallen sharply.

Used to have a tracker myself and also asked the question. Was also chased.

They will have zero interest specially in mortgages that are being repaid regularly.
